    Apple Pie



    Materials

    For the dough:

    ◦ 200 g flour
    ◦ 30 g powdered sugar
    ◦ 130 g cold butter
    ◦ 35 g cold water

    For the stuffing;

    ◦ 4 red apples
    ◦ 4 green apples
    ◦ 6 tablespoons of sugar
    ◦ Juice of half a lemon
    ◦ 1 glass of walnuts
    ◦ 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

    For the topping:

    ◦ 1 egg
    ◦ 15 g milk

     

    How to make:

    The apples are peeled and grated. It is placed in a pot, sugar is added and cooked by mixing. Walnuts, lemon juice and cinnamon are also added. Cook the apples until they absorb their juice, cover them and leave them to cool.
    To make the dough, add flour, powdered sugar and diced cold butter into the food processor and mix well. Then cold water is added to make it a dough consistency, then it is taken out of the robot and collected by hand. One dough is made for the base and another dough is made for the top. (The dough measurements above are for one dough.)
    Wrap the dough in stretch film and let it rest in the refrigerator until the apple mixture cools down completely.
    The base dough is rolled out by adjusting it according to the size of the container. Add apple mixture on top. Roll out the top dough and cut evenly spaced strips. A square pattern coating is made so that the strips pass from one bottom to the other. A row of strips is placed on the outer frame. Apply the egg and milk mixture on top and bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 50 minutes until golden brown. Optionally, it can be decorated with powdered sugar and served.
